Key takeaways
- 12 portable autoclaves: three HP-N pairs (HP-N01 to HP-N06) that differ by lid and base, and three HP-P versions: Normal, Digital and Coal & Power.
- HP-P27 and HP-P28 can be heated on a coal stove or electrically, so one model serves sites with and without reliable power.
- Chamber volume, pressure, temperature and power are confirmed per model on the data sheet sent with the quotation.
This collection lists every portable autoclave we supply to small clinics, health posts, laboratories, outreach programs and equipment distributors: 12 compact pressure steam sterilizers that set up on a bench or stand and move between rooms. It is the portable part of our autoclave and steam sterilizer range.
How to choose a portable steam sterilizer
- Lid and base (HP-N01 to HP-N06). The six HP-N models come in three pairs: HP-N01 and HP-N02 are a plain stand-alone cylindrical vessel with a wing-nut clamped lid, a lid-mounted pressure gauge and carry handle and no separate control base; HP-N03 and HP-N04 keep the clamped lid and lid gauge but sit on a base section with a drain tap, which makes emptying the water easier than tipping the vessel; HP-N05 and HP-N06 close with a single central knob and are set from a digital display and keypad on a base that also carries a drain tap. Each pair has two model numbers; choose by rated volume on the data sheets.
- Version (HP-P23 to HP-P28). The six HP-P models come in three versions: Normal or standard (HP-P23, HP-P24), Digital (HP-P25, HP-P26) with digital control, and Coal & Power (HP-P27, HP-P28), which can be heated on a coal stove or electrically. Choose Digital where there is a reliable power supply and you want displayed, repeatable cycle values; choose Coal & Power where the grid is weak or absent. Other fuels and stove types are not confirmed, so ask before using a Coal & Power model with any heat source other than coal or electric power.
- Control type. With a gauge-only unit the operator watches the pressure gauge and times the cycle; a digital controller reads the chamber sensors, shows temperature, pressure and remaining time and switches the heater and timer to the selected settings, which makes cycles easier to repeat. Which steps each model automates, and whether it is supplied for manual operation or with an automatic timer, is confirmed on the data sheet.
- Loads. A portable pressure steam sterilizer handles small batches of heat- and moisture-tolerant items: stainless instruments, dressings and gauze, glassware and culture media, and unwrapped solid tools in tattoo, beauty and podiatry studios. Heat-sensitive plastics, oils and powders need another method. Dental handpieces and instruments pouched for storage need vacuum air removal, so compare the pulse-vacuum models in our tabletop autoclaves for those loads.
- Capacity and power. Chamber volume, pressure, temperature and heating power are confirmed per model with the quotation. Measure the longest item you sterilize, count the loads on a peak day and allow one or two spare cycles; overloading blocks steam and can cause failed cycles. For electric use, state the mains voltage, frequency and plug type at the site.

Portable steam sterilizers for distributors, clinics and health programs
We quote portable autoclaves for single sites and for programs equipping many sites, some of which have no reliable power; program buyers often mix Coal & Power units for off-grid sites with Digital units for connected ones, and the models can be quoted together and shipped in one consolidated order with other HOPE INTERNATIONAL equipment. Each quotation lists the machine, basket, spare gaskets and safety valves, packing and labeling, and the documents for the destination market; MOQ and lead time are confirmed with the quotation. Certificates, declarations of conformity and test reports for the specific product and destination market are provided with the quotation. When you request a quote, tell us the quantity and number of sites, the share of sites without reliable power, what you sterilize and whether items are wrapped, cycles per day, the mains voltage, frequency and plug type for electric use, the records your local health authority requires, and the destination country.
Frequently asked questions
+Which portable autoclave should a small clinic or health post choose?
Digital control (HP-P25, HP-P26) needs a power supply at the point of use; where the grid is weak or absent, Coal & Power (HP-P27, HP-P28) can be heated on a coal stove. HP-N01 to HP-N04 and HP-P23 and HP-P24 are plain clamped vessels with a lid gauge; HP-N05 and HP-N06 add a digital display and keypad on the base.
+Can a portable autoclave work without electricity?
HP-P27 and HP-P28 can be heated on a coal stove, so they reach sterilizing conditions without power when the operator controls pressure and time; where electricity is available they can run on power instead. Other fuels and stove types are not confirmed, so ask before using any other heat source.
+Can I use a portable autoclave for dental instruments?
A portable steam autoclave can sterilize unwrapped solid instruments. Dental handpieces are hollow, and instruments stored between patients are pouched; those loads need vacuum air removal, which our pulse-vacuum table top models (HP-P32 to HP-P38) are designated for. Tell us your instrument mix and we will advise.
+What is the difference between the HP-N01 to HP-N06 pairs?
HP-N01 and HP-N02 are a stand-alone vessel with a wing-nut clamped lid and lid gauge; HP-N03 and HP-N04 add a base section with a drain tap; HP-N05 and HP-N06 close with a single central knob and are set from a digital display and keypad on the base. Each pair offers two sizes, confirmed on the data sheets.
+How is a portable autoclave priced for program orders?
Price depends on chamber volume, standard or digital control, the heating option, voltage build and accessories, so we quote per order with each item listed rather than publishing list prices. For programs equipping many sites, send the quantity, destinations, packing and labeling requirements; MOQ and lead time are confirmed with the quotation.
+Which documents come with a portable autoclave order?
Certificates, declarations of conformity and test reports for the specific product and destination market are provided with the quotation. They come together with the model data sheet and operating manual. Tell us the destination country and whether the order is for a program or an importer so the document set matches their requirements.
