Examination beds for doctors' offices, GP practices, outpatient departments, gynecology clinics and medical equipment distributors: this collection lists all eleven models we supply, from a simple examination couch to electric exam tables with a sliding top. It is the examination part of our hospital beds and examination tables range; obstetric delivery beds are listed separately under delivery beds.
How to choose an exam table
- General examinations or gynecology. For routine consultations a flat couch such as HP-T13, HP-T14 or HP-T15 is enough. For pelvic examinations, smear tests and minor gynecological procedures choose a table with leg supports for the lithotomy position: HP-T06, HP-T07, HP-T08, HP-T12 or HP-T16. HP-T16 keeps a couch profile, so it also works for general examinations when the leg supports are not in use.
- Electric or manual. HP-T06 to HP-T08, HP-T15, HP-U06 and HP-U07 are electric: staff lower the top for the patient to get on and raise it to working height at the press of a button. HP-T12 is pictured with a handwheel, and HP-U08 slides its top with a barometric (air-pressure) mechanism instead of a motor. The drive of HP-T13, HP-T14 and HP-T16 is confirmed on the data sheet.
- Storage and mobility. HP-T14 has a storage cabinet with sliding doors in the base, which saves a separate cupboard in a small room; HP-T13 is the open-base version. HP-T14, HP-T15, HP-T16, HP-U07 and HP-U08 are pictured on castors. The castor brake type is confirmed on the data sheet.
- Sliding top. HP-U07 and HP-U08 have a top that slides along the frame, so the patient is moved into position without being lifted: by motor on HP-U07, by air pressure on HP-U08. HP-U06 has a fixed flat top on an offset (partial) column.
- Accessories. Leg supports, drainage basins, examination lights, paper roll holders and side rails vary by model. Knee crutches or foot stirrups, and whether each item is standard or optional, are confirmed in the quotation.
- Size and load. Tabletop size, height range, section angles, safe working load and overall dimensions are listed on the data sheet of each model and confirmed with the quotation; we do not publish unverified figures. Send your room size and we will check the fit.
- Power supply. For the electric models, tell us the mains voltage, frequency and plug type of the destination.

Frequently asked questions
+What is the difference between an examination bed, an exam table and an examination couch?
The names are used for the same kind of furniture: examination couch is common in British English, exam table in the United States. In our range HP-T13, HP-T14 and HP-T15 are flat couches for general examinations, and HP-T06 to HP-T08, HP-T12 and HP-T16 are gynecological tables with leg supports.
+Which examination bed suits a doctor's office?
For routine consultations a flat couch is usually enough: HP-T13 with an open base, or HP-T14 with a storage cabinet if the room has no separate cupboard. If patients struggle to climb on, the electric HP-T15 lowers the top for them. Send your room size and we will check the fit.
+Electric or manual exam table: which should a clinic choose?
Electric tables change height and sections at the press of a button, which means less bending and lifting for staff in rooms used all day. Manual tables cost less and need no power. HP-T06 to HP-T08, HP-T15, HP-U06 and HP-U07 are electric; HP-T12 is pictured with a handwheel.
+What is a sliding-top examination table?
Its top slides along the frame, so the patient can be moved into position without being lifted. HP-U07 slides by motor; HP-U08 uses a barometric (air-pressure) mechanism with fewer electric parts. The travel length of each model is on its data sheet.
+What sizes are your examination beds?
Sizes vary by model. Tabletop length and width, height range and safe working load are listed on the data sheet of each model, which is sent with the quotation.
+How much does an examination bed cost?
The price depends on the drive, accessories, upholstery, quantity and destination. We do not publish list prices; send the models, quantity and mains voltage for a firm quotation.
